Rockstar calls it “the sunniest place in America,” and honestly? Vice City earns the title. This is the beating heart of GTA 6, a Miami-flavoured playground of luxury high-rises, packed beaches, and neon nightlife, and it’s bigger than anything the series has ever built before.
Confirmed neighbourhoods so far include: Ocean Beach – pitched as sandy stretches lined with pastel art deco hotels, Little Cuba’s compact hustle and bustle, and VC Port, which likes to claim the title of “cruise ship capital of the world.” Rockstar’s own line sums up the vibe: things “have moved on since the ’80s”, this is a modern Vice City, not a nostalgia trip.
That said, fans have been busy spotting things in the trailers that look like old Vice City landmarks: a nightclub some think could be a modern take on the Malibu Club, and a background detail some are convinced is a nod to Tommy Vercetti’s old house. Rockstar hasn’t officially confirmed any of that, so treat it as fun fan theory rather than fact for now.
Luxury one block, dense residential streets the next – Vice City’s whole personality is contrast, and that’s exactly why it’s the perfect stage for Lucia and Jason’s story.
