Every music scene needs an origin story, and Bae-Luxe and Roxy’s is more chaotic than most. Best friends since high school, the pair who make up Real Dimez didn’t start out in a studio… they started out shaking down local dealers, before someone had the genius idea to turn all that hustle into rap tracks instead.
It worked. Spicy tracks, a relentless social media grind, and an early collaboration with local rapper DWNPLY gave them their first real taste of success. Five years and, in Rockstar’s own words, “a whole lot of trouble” later, they’ve landed a deal with Only Raw Records – Dre’Quan Priest’s label – and they’re hoping the second hit lands as hard as the first.
Their own bars do the talking better than we can: “All my dimes in this club. Meet my twin, make it a dub.” Confidence like that only works if you can back it up, and after a run like theirs, Real Dimez have clearly earned it.
Whether Vice City gets its next viral anthem out of them remains to be seen, but by Real Dimez’s own account, they’re “one hit away from fame.” No pressure.
