Rockstar’s already shown us exactly how we’ll be spending our downtime between missions in Leonida, and honestly? It’s giving vacation, not crime spree.
Quick context: This all comes from the official GTA 6 Extended Look; the ~27-minute gameplay preview Rockstar dropped on Netflix back in late August. Rockstar itself has said there are roughly 20 free-roam activity categories in the game, and the footage gave us a proper look at most of them. This isn’t rumour territory; it’s straight from the official reveal.
On the water: Scuba diving (yes, with actual sea life to swim past), open-water swimming, jet skis, kayaking, and fanboats/airboating through the swampy, Everglades-style parts of rural Leonida. Basically an entire aquatic side career if you want one.
Getting around for fun, not crime: Electric scooters you can hop on and ride around the city, plus proper street and circuit racing if four wheels and speed is more your vibe, and dirt biking/motocross for the off-road crowd.
Keeping fit (allegedly): Basketball with Jason and Lucia actually shooting hoops together, gym sessions with weight training, and because this is still GTA, backyard wrestling as a slightly more chaotic form of exercise.
Chaos, but the fun kind: Base jumping off skyscrapers, a military-style shooting range for target practice, and yes, you can still pull off a quick store robbery if the mood strikes mid free-roam.
Chilling out: Nightlife spots… clubs, bars, and strip clubs, described as properly reactive to what’s happening around you, plus scrolling social media and watching TV shows/commercials in-game, and even using a VR headset. Very “off-duty criminal relaxing at home” energy.
The little stuff: Mini golf, pool/billiards, fishing, and animal interactions like feeding and handling wildlife round things out.
The bottom line: Whatever mood you’re in, sporty, chaotic, chill, or “I just want to pet something,” GTA 6 has apparently got a side activity for it. And this is just what Rockstar chose to show us; there’s a good chance more gets revealed closer to the November 19 launch.
